Incense has been used for centuries as an offering to the gods. Clearly, an appropriate addition to a shop specializing in offerings. In 2020, backflow cones had just become mainstream and, since everyone was house-bound because of Covid, it was no coincidence when I discovered the tower-molded cones!

But the incense had to be special. It had to be personalized for the deities. Using the research I compiled, and the scented candle oils I already had on-hand, I decided to blend scents that I knew the entities would love. Anyone can find eucalyptus-scented incense. But eucalyptus blended with tobacco specifically for Belial was altogether different.

I was familiar with blending essential oils for my diffuser so I figured this wasn’t much different. My first blend was Triple Goddess, formulated for Hecate, followed by Lilith’s Blend, Belial’s Blend and Black Magick.  (Yes, I’m following the left-hand path. 😂)

I do my best to describe and represent the blends in the listings but samples were definitely needed. After including the 1” sample cones as a little gift in every candle order, the incense sales took off! Now the shop offers about 30 scents – give or take depending on the season - which are categorized to help you find what you like. The 11” sticks were added about a year later with 1” cone assortments.

More than half the scents are hand-mixed with my own blends and additional unique aromas are added regularly that can only be found at SMO!
